"Isn't this world something wonderful
that we were made to suffer both it's honesty and cruelty?
today?"

-The Echoing Green, "Suffer"

Last week or so, I've fought depression, and it's a battle I'm slowly winning. When I say depression mind you, I don't mean Emo-Oh-my-gawd-liek-mah-life-sux depression, I'm talking, not even wanting to get out of bed depression. Downright, "I welcome an early death" depressions.

Work has been killing me. Two people quit and one person got fired, and because I try my best to be a reliable person, their leftover hours got shoved to my schedule. It wouldn't be so bad, but the rednecks in my town are suddenly attracted to Dairy Queen.

This town is trying to kill me.

It's good money, but it just means that you guys are going to have more prolonged delays on Madness Before Teatime, for that, I am sorry.

But I will update you whenever I can sit down and write.

And now, for some horror recommendations:

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni, translated into When Cicadas Cry Part I.

It is a simply incredible series. You'll laugh, cry, piss your pants, and never look at cute, little girls the same way again. My best friend, known commonly as PyroPro started watching and he agrees it's the freakiest thing he's ever seen.

But...the show is more addicting than crack. I'm already on Season Two.

Gads....the Japanese are truly masters of horror.

I totally sympathize for your position, although, I don't know your exact position, but I feel for you.

I know, it does next to nothing through digital text from an apparent stranger, but at least its something.

I drive down I-95 when I'm feeling depressed. =_= AKA, when I have Writers' Block. The speed limit is 70, so there's a beautiful rush to everything. Plus, when you listen to "Love Song" by Korn at that speed, it's pretty much an adrenal reaction. ^^; I sing my heart out until I'm exhausted, then go to the bookstore and look for manga to buy.

Though...it baffles me that being surrounded by ice cream, supposed healer of all depression, could do nothing at all for you. o_o The world is full of mystery.

Anyway, fear not. You're not the only one suffering. Commiseration is our greatest power. (Finals are three weeks away and I'm about to take my toaster in the bath if the stress piles on any higher. *sigh* I wish I were a dragonfly. I could kill my enemy, the mosquito, AND fly. Ah, nirvana...)

I'm gonna go steal Higurashi from my Anime Club friends. You've convinced me. ^_^ (And yes, the Japanese are masters of the horror genre.)

May fortune ambush you in a dark alley. I'm sure you'll feel better after a bit. Life has us at the end of a spring, jerking us into our highs and lows without warning, rhyme, or reason--but there's always something out there to make you feel that it might be worth it after all. (Like getting published. I'm still alive 'cause I dream of being published. *nerds out*)

Right...long. I have to go write that physics report now...

I'm rootin' for ya! XD

My sympathies, working anywhere near food generally does attract fuckwits and bogans, the only thing that i have found works to combat their oppressive presence is to smile through my teeth and imagine thier bloody and painful demises.
Other than that, friends bearing copious amounts of alcoholic beverages and dance-music helps also.
Good luck and best wishes.

Funny, that sounds like something my boss told me, he just said,

"You're never allowed to do this, but imagine dumping their face into the hot chocolate cone dip. It helps."
